Here's Today's Tip... Barriers.
Want to know the key to achieving your dreams and goals and realizing a true life of significance? Altering your beliefs about yourself. As motivational speaker Ed Mylett so perfectly sums up, there’s a governor on our lives, and it’s our identity -- what we think we’re worth; what we think we deserve.
A good person in any endeavor will only take what he thinks he deserves. In other words, a good person will not take more from the table of life than what he thinks he’s worth.
And that’s where our self-imposed governor on our identity comes into play. Think about it like a thermostat. Say you’re a 75-degree person. If things start heating up in life -- you start experiencing more success, your life gets going -- you unconsciously find a way to cool things back down…to get back to where we’re comfortable.
On the flip side, when things take a turn for the worse -- when you’re broke, when you’re struggling -- you grind and find a way to heat them back up to the point we think we deserve. Over time, you always find yourself in that 75-degree comfort zone.
BUT, if you want to alter your life, is to alter that governor of self-identity -- to start to believe that you’re worth 85 degrees of life, 90 degrees of life or 95 degrees of life. And there are TWO ways that you can do that.
- Put yourself in circumstances that demand you to get outside your comfort zone. Said differently, you throw yourself out there past where you are comfortable -- you make yourself do something that an 85-degree person would do, and you knock it out of the park. When you do that repetitiously, you begin to believe in that new level of identity.
- Surround yourself with people who operate at a higher level than you. For example, if you’re a 70-degree athlete, and you start training with other athletes who operate at an 85-degree level, you’re going to level up. As Ed Mylett says, “Your identity, through osmosis, goes up.”
The take-home point is that both your behaviors and associations are key to altering your beliefs about yourself, which are the path to getting (and giving) more out of life.
Before I go, I wanted to circle back on a “Hot Topic” that has been hitting our Support Team. We have been receiving a lot of questions about collagen, and what are the benefits of taking collagen.
This is a great question, here are a few facts about collagen to help you out.
Do you have sagging skin, brittle nails, or dry and thinning hair? These are most likely warning signs that you are collagen deficient.
Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, acting as the glue that holds everything together. As we age, our natural collagen production starts to decline, leading to visible signs of aging like wrinkles, sagging skin, and joint stiffness. By replenishing your collagen levels, you can reclaim your youthful glow. Let’s delve into the incredible benefits of collagen and why incorporating it into your daily routine is a game-changer for looking like a younger version of you!
1. Supports Skin Health: Collagen is like the scaffolding that supports your skin's structure, keeping it firm, smooth, and elastic. As we age, our natural collagen production declines, leading to wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of elasticity. By supplementing with collagen, you can help maintain a youthful complexion and reduce the signs of aging.
2. Promotes Joint Health: Collagen is a key component of your joints, providing cushioning and support for smooth movement. As we age, joint pain and stiffness become more common due to wear and tear on the cartilage. Adding collagen to your diet can help support joint health, reduce inflammation, and alleviate discomfort, allowing you to stay active and pain-free.
3. Strengthens Hair and Nails: Want to achieve luscious locks and strong, healthy nails? Collagen can help! The amino acids in collagen are essential for hair and nail growth, providing the building blocks needed for strong, resilient strands and nails.
4. Boosts Muscle Mass: Collagen is not just for skin and joints—it's also essential for muscle health. Supplementing with collagen can help support muscle growth and repair, making it an excellent addition to your post-workout routine.
Incorporating collagen into your daily routine is easy and convenient. However, most people waste money on expensive collagen powders, without seeing any results.
This is because almost all collagen powders on the market are missing 4 of the 5 crucial types of collagen. This means that you are only getting a very small fraction of the promised results.
Fortunately, there is one collagen powder that contains all 5 types of collagen that work together to provide glowing skin, beautiful hair, and strong nails.
It also contains an array of other potent superfoods that target fat loss and boost your metabolism… so you can truly glow from the inside out.
It’s the most powerful combination of collagen available, and I wanted to make sure I shared it with you today, as they are running a flash sale for up to 50% off until tonight at midnight.
When you give it a try, let me know what you think!

Change That Up
Change That Up was founded to help replace old habits with positive, healthy habits. It is our core belief that you have the power to #changethatup when we’re stuck in rut. You can do this by using our powerful daily insights delivered to your inbox.
We all grew up on the typical standard American diet. We followed the patterns and behaviors that we learned from everyone around us. When we all first started growing up and becoming adults, we started living a work life behind the desk. We got busy with life. We almost all fell out of any good habits that we had while growing up (this almost always happened unless you grew up in a home that taught good nutrition and healthy habits). As any adult in their 40s and 50s can relate, you feel a great amount of joy when you see your healthy habits create a life of freedom and happiness.
Through all the years of frustration, we eventually figured out that developing healthy habits requires surrounding yourself with positive influences that embody how you want to live. Here at Change That Up (with some help from our favorite health experts and practitioners along the way) we’ve developed a trusted newsletter that has helped thousands of men and women become better at living healthy, one positive change at a time. We give extra time and attention to break down big ideas into simplified, bite-sized insights for daily improvement.
With our daily email newsletter, you will become a much more confident, knowledgeable and healthy version of yourself.
